Woven is helping to promote SkillSET

SkillSET, funded by the UK Government, is an employment project which supports economically inactive people who have a disability or health condition to find a job.

SkillSET @Orchardville

SkillSET @Orchardville provides an individualised programme of employment support to participants who have a neurodiverse condition. Orchardville is delivering SkillSET in partnership with SESNI, a consortium of seven well established and experienced disability organisations.

A range of services are available to help participants prepare for, find, secure and keep their job. 

Activities include:

  • Employability training courses covering CV preparation, job searching, interview and communication skills

  • Vocational Skills training in a range of sectors e.g. Retail, Barista, ICT

  • Travel training, online safety and money management courses

  • Work experience and volunteering opportunities with a wide range of employers in your area

  • Exclusive Employer Tours – Orchardville have partnered with some of the biggest employers, including BBC, IKEA, Stryker, Telefonica Tech, and Titanic Belfast, to provide guided tours that will give an insight into various industries

  • Support to progress into paid work including on the job training and mentoring

  • There’s support every step of the way from our team of employment officers who have links to a wide range of employers that we can connect you to

Eligibility –

  • Age 16 - 65

  • Neurodiverse (autistic, ADHD, learning disabled, dyslexic, etc.) – a diagnosis is not required

  • In need of some support with developing your skills to get a job

WorkableNI

Orchardville also offer assistance to people already in employment through the WorkableNI programme.

Workable NI, funded by Department for Communities and delivered in partnership with SESNI, a consortium of 7 specialist disability organisations, supports employees who are at struggling at work or are at risk of losing their job because of their disability or health condition. We can also help you if you wish to return to work after a period of absence or if you wish to pursue promotion or a change of role and need support to do so. Our specialist Employment Officers work alongside clients and their employers to create personalised development plans and we provide disability awareness training and advice around reasonable adjustments to employers.

Eligibility –

  • Working more than 10 hours per week for a single employer

  • Age 16 - 65

  • Have a disability or other health condition
