We were delighted to join with our colleagues from Clanmil, Ark and Radius to help support the Mayor’s Cup at Ards Blair Mayne Leisure & Wellbeing Complex, with support from Housing for All.

150 young people from across the borough took part in activities over three days, designed to develop both football skills and raise awareness on important topics. Three days of motivational messages about sport, dedication, self esteem, safety and friendship with sessions focusing on team-building and wellbeing, alongside workshops on healthy relationships and personal development.

Men’s and women’s first team players from Linfield Football Club (Official) Linfield FC Women and Glentoran Glentoran Women FC & Academy, dropped by to share words of wisdom & encouragement with all involved and Mayor Cllr Gillian McCollum was involved in the workshops.

The final days saw legends Gerry Armstrong, Marissa Callaghan and David Jeffrey arrive to present prizes based on skills, respect and commitment to the spirit of belonging.

The event was additionally supported by ND&A Women's Aid, TAMHI (Tackling Awareness of Mental Health Issues), Bangor Elim Church, and Stevie Rea’s Coaching.
